SUMELO FAQ
Questions before you build your system?
These answers describe the SUMELO V2 product experience.
Product & costing
What is SUMELO?
SUMELO is costing and operations software for recipe-based food businesses. It connects purchase pricing, Ingredients, Recipes, Products, Materials, labor, overhead, production and profitability information in one system.
Is SUMELO accounting or bookkeeping software?
No. SUMELO is not accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, tax, legal or financial-advisory software and does not replace those professionals or services.
Does SUMELO tell me exactly what I should charge?
No. SUMELO organizes the costs, assumptions and pricing inputs you provide and shows the financial implications of the selling price you choose. You remain responsible for pricing decisions.
What is the difference between Recipe Cost, Production Cost and True Cost?
Recipe Cost reflects the cost of the Recipe itself. Production Cost can include the Recipe plus finishing Ingredients, Materials, packaging and active labor required for the Product. True Cost incorporates overhead for a broader operating view.
Can SUMELO track purchase pricing and Suppliers?
Yes. Ingredients and Materials can connect to source purchase information and Suppliers so costing can reflect the purchasing data you enter.
Can I include packaging and labor?
Yes. Products can include Materials, packaging and active labor as part of the Product cost structure.
Recipes, production & sharing
Can I standardize Recipes?
Yes. Recipes can include quantities, yields, procedures, step-by-step instructions and photos so costing and operating standards can live together.
What are Production Batches?
Production Batches support operational production work by carrying Recipe or Product standards into a batch-oriented production context.
Does SUMELO support saved yields?
Yes. Recipes and Products can store yield information, and Production Batches use those saved yields as scaling references.
Can I print or share production information?
Yes. Publication tools support preview, PDF, print and secure sharing for supported Recipe, Product and Production Batch references. Supported publications can also carry the business-scoped Created with SUMELO QR attribution used by the current referral system when the business is eligible.
Teams & access
Can my team use SUMELO?
Yes. V2 includes Solo, Crew, Kitchen, Scale and Enterprise paths with Primary owner, Admin and Member roles.
Does the owner count as an additional-user seat?
No. The primary business owner is included and does not consume an additional-user seat.
Do pending invitations consume seats?
No. Pending invitations do not consume seats. Active additional users do.
Can production staff use SUMELO without seeing financial information?
Yes. The Member role is intentionally designed for production access without sensitive financial visibility such as selling price, costs, profit, margin, markup, labor cost, target margin, Expenses or financial dashboards.
EARN, Affiliates & selling digital content
What is EARN?
EARN is the monetization hub for eligible primary owners. It brings together Sell with SUMELO and the SUMELO Affiliate Program in one place.
How does Sell with SUMELO work?
Eligible U.S. sellers can connect Stripe, create a single-item listing from one Recipe or Product or create a mixed bundle, choose Personal or Commercial Use licensing, publish a secure sales link and manage digital Orders inside SUMELO.
Does the buyer need a SUMELO account?
No. A buyer can open the seller's public listing and complete the purchase without creating a SUMELO account. After confirmed payment, SUMELO provides secure access to the purchased version.
What is the SUMELO seller-commerce fee?
The current SUMELO seller-commerce platform fee is 10% of the pre-tax product price unless a different fee is clearly disclosed before a future sale. Stripe processing fees, taxes and other seller obligations are separate.
How does the Affiliate Program work?
Eligible primary owners receive a unique referral identity inside SUMELO. A referred customer receives 50% off the first monthly payment or 10% off the first annual payment, and a qualifying referral can generate a US$4–US$10 reward based on the referred customer's market.
When does an Affiliate reward qualify?
The current qualification period is 30 days after the referred customer's successful payment. Monthly payouts become available once at least US$25 is qualified and available under the program rules.

What are the V2 plan prices?
